The next day I( ana) wake up at 7 and do some work we then set off for “ramsay street” otherwise known as “pin oak ct” hoping not to get lost.
We arrive to be met by a closed off road and filming taking place…we wait with three other neighbours fans two of which turn out to be from Sutton and the other a pro golfer who has just qualified as a pro after studying at the belfry…a small world…they have all been out in tamworth…what a shame. We are told that it will be an hour before we are allowed up the street so we all drive for a coffee withemma and I giving the pro golfer a lift. It turns out his girlfriend plays hockey for Scotland and Britain and his best mate is pable ntini or something like that (ed would know who) who has had several hits.
We go back to ramsay street and drive the ambassador van on the same hallowed ground where bouncer has roamed and Hannah plays cricket and todd got run over J most bizarre and a lot smaller in real life….isnt everything!
I drive out of ramsay street while emma films me leave just like a departing cast member.
We head back to st Kilda to get ready for the evening at te elephant and wheelbarrow where we will meet some neighbours stars d take part in a trivia quiz.
Arriving at the venue the build up was slow and steady with lots of old neighbours clips being shown to a packed house. Clips included Helen Daniels and Hanna amongst other long forgotten favourites.
We sat on a table with several other lads, some of whom were from Birmingham but all of whom were extremely outgoing!
At about 9.30pm Paul robinson (Stefan dennis), Toadfish and Stefanie all entered the room to much applause. They were all asked a few pre-arranged questions with paul in particular getting lots of grief from the crowd..all in good humour and he gave as good as he got. Toady got asked the obvious question..why is he so fat and how many backpackrs has he slept with (he does this evening evry week for the last 8 years J )
The quiz begins and our table looks to me and emma for the answers thinking we are both intelligent! Meanwhile the stars come round to each table in turn for a photograph opportunity….at this point emma becomes particularly star struck at the sight of paul robinson and continues to follow him around the room desperately trying to get a photo as he missed our table out.
She finally succeeds and has a bit of chat with the man…then she turns her fickle attention onto stef….commenting that “she thinks she is great”
I bow out of photos with these two saving my one demeaning moment for a picture with the toad which get with minimum of fuss and attention drawn to myself.
The night finished with dancing competitions which should have all been won by members of our table (me not included) but the event was obviously fixed as some nomarks seemed to win out.
