    This Samburu village located just outside of the Samburu National Park is in a rather remote, harsh, dry environment. There are 9 families living in this village and despite the living conditions, they appear to live in harmony with the land and express themselves in colorful clothing and have an outgoing friendly attitude. by: allann Views[193] Some of the tribal warriors spend some time relaxing in the shade. They fashion their seats out of wood and carry them with them. by: allann Views[268] These young children of the tribe are now old enough to walk almost 30 kilometers to a neighbouring town where they will spend 3 months at a time to receive their education by: allann Views[353] A young female member of the tribe, is almost of marrying age, 15, and will be expected to build her own home for her family when the time comes. by: allann Views[267] An elderly female of the tribe despite her age participates in welcoming us to their village. by: allann Views[224]

    On a recent trip to Kenya I was extremely fortunate to have an opportunity to visit a local tribe, the Samburus. They welcomed us into their village and gave us an intimate peek into their culture and customs.
