My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

My life is a tremendous desire to learn. I finished Electrical Engineering University and got the masters in Energy Management. Energy is very interesting because not so many things around us would work, not even a camera works without a battery today.
As a young boy I went through a four-year-war in Croatia which changed my life. The poverty and sadness I witnessed made me more social sensitive and it influenced my constant interest in political, religious and social concerns. Luckily, after the university I got the job in the UNDP and through their project I have been implementing energy efficiency into public buildings in Croatia.
All my earned money I have spent on camera equipment and backpacking. The most exciting countries so far have been Myanmar, Syria and Mongolia. These underdeveloped countries gave me an opportunity to widen my horizons and learn a lot from the people I met along the way.
Technical side of the photography process is clear to me, what an aperture is, a shutter speed, etc. but how to successfully connect technical knowledge with a story I want to convey is what interests me the most and I’m sure this is the course that will provide exactly this. Can’t wait!
