Today's word for the day - mensore (pronounced "men - so - reh") is the Okinawan dialect word for "welcome." The Japanese word is "yoko-so," but as we're living in Okinawa, mensore is more correct. Another example of "there is Japan, and then there is Okinawa."
We're having fun introducing Brandon's best friend, Dick, to our beautiful island. One of our first stops - American Village. We took him out to our favorite ramen shop for a Gyoza Set and dessert at Yogurtland. American Village at night is especially fun now, as they have it decorated and lit up for the holiday season. We're looking forward to many adventures while Dick is here! So, mensore, Dick! Next stop, the Aquarium!
