Kilamatu Eco Lodge, Moni, Flores

INDONESIA | Monday, 8 August 2011 | Views [527]

The Kilamatu Eco Lodge is a new addition to Moni and is one of a chain popping up across Indonesia. Set in lovely gardens, growing their own produce with a little river running by, the setting is idyllic and the rooms do not disappoint, including the 'outdoor' bathroom that is growing in favour amongst Indonesian hotel designers. But, welcome to the kitchen where time stands still; order your food before you get hungry then kick back with a book as whilst supposedly preparing meals the kitchen staff step through the magic door of Mr Ben's Gentlemen's outfitters and experience crazy adventures in worlds far far away from a two hob gas burner, eventually popping back 'just in time' to serve relatively tasty, if pricey, food. If they are on drugs, its not coke; it took 40 minutes to get a boiled egg at breakfast!
