The TGV train was fun as we zoomed from Paris to Antibes in the south of France. I spent a lovely week in a small place called Roquefort les Pins and got proficient at using the local transport to visit places like Antibes, Cannes ( I spotted a cool red Ferarri as soon as I arrived, then a Rolls Royce),Nice where the beaches are beautiful and there is a chateau on the hill with gorgeous panoramic views, and Grasse which is famous for its perfume factories. I also went for a couple of hikes with Christel . One was a 4 hour stint up TWO(!!) mountains in Eze and the other a lovely more sedate 2 hour hike in Valbonne. I had a lovely week with Claire's host family who now live here after moving from Alsace.
I am now staying in a gorgeous old house with Emma and her family in the countryside just out of Grenoble at a tiny place called St Paul D'Iseaux. I have tasted so many beautiful typically French foods that I need to keep walking and hiking to make sure I don't expand too much around the waistline!
It is almost Easter and I am learning about les cloches(rather than Easter Bunny) who deliver chocolate goodies to celebrate.
I m still having a fabulous time enjoying every day in Europe. My french is even starting to improve thanks especially to Pascale who has heaps of patience and is a French as a second language teacher. Quelle bonne chance pour moi!
