Cottage Weekend

At the end of every day we like to sit on the deck together and watch one of the million-dollar sunsets we get to see there. Usually dad is cooking dinner on the barbecue or playing crib with me (he still tries to cheat me!), mum is soaking up the last of the sun's rays, and Darcy is drying off from all his swimming during the day.

Darcy enjoys being in the water more than being out of it. I swear he must be part amphibian! He will fetch a block of wood or a stick or a ball for hours, long after the rest of us have gotten tired of throwing things for him. Darcy will even dive down into the water and attempt to fetch any rocks we throw in to distract him from getting us to throw things that float!

Early in the morning the lake is as still as a mirror, making for some beautiful shots that bend space and make you think up is down. On the last morning of our weekends at the cottage, this is a pretty beautiful scene that makes it harder and harder to go back to the city for the coming week. But we'll always be back again next weekend!
