Underground Prayers, Lalibela, Ethiopia – During Ethiopian Christmas, pilgrims from the whole country flock to the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, the holiest place of Ethiopian Christian mysticism.

Prayers are waiting patiently to climb the ladder in order to be blessed by an aged monk who lives inside a cave. It seems like becoming recipients of God’s enlightenment.
