    Few years ago, FARAH 3 ship that was captured by Tamil rebels, used to be a symbol of fierce battles. Nowadays, the ship wreckage remains grounded to the exotic beach of Northern Sri Lanka in order to remind of the past. The visit of a foreigner in these areas is not common. Thus, my presence there was the reason that the 3 locals, who were fighting against each other before, started discussing. All of us stayed at the beach till late afternoon talking about the past, living the present and making plans for the future. by: vito-stef Views[2102] “A” for Amazing mother’s tenderness to the daughter. Kala combs her child’s hair before leaving home for school. Despite the poverty and poor living conditions, her daughter like all students must wear the uniform that is provided by the government for free. by: vito-stef Views[1963] Even if the end of the war is not such a distant memory, 4 years later the inhabitants of the damaged areas are trying to come back to everyday life. Early in the morning in the half-made house, young Arul has just woken up while his father is getting ready to go for work. by: vito-stef Views[625] The time stopped 23 years ago when the last train departed from Jaffna’s station. Nowadays, the worker, who is responsible for the railway line reconnection of the city with the capital, reminisces the old period of the glorious train station. by: vito-stef Views[870] LIFE WANDERS IN A POST WAR ZONE – TAMIL, SRI LANKA. For more than 25 years, Sri Lanka was embroiled in a bloody civil war causing the death of thousands of Sinhalese and Tamil people.
