Robert conducts a lesson (note the bare feet)

The kids from Rototo arrived a little ahead of schedule but we were ready for them.  This group was a lot more relaxed and ready to learn than the group on Tuesday.  I suspect word got around about what to expect and how much fun the day was.  And Robert reacted accordingly.  He really enjoyed himself, a feeling I remember from my teaching days.  Everything clicked and he had them eating out of his hand.

As I waited for the group to reappear from the forest walk, I looked up and saw two white females approaching.  Helga is doing some missionary work in Bushenyi and Sonja is visiting her for a couple of weeks.  They had come to go on a guided forest walk with Jonathon.  Whites in Africa are known as 'muzungus' and I can now see why Connie and I cause such a stir. The first glimpse of white skin literally caught me by surprise, almost like Dorothy’s first look at Oz.  Helga is one of Rob Bird’s neighbors and she tentatively invited us to his farewell party if she can text message us with details.  After lunch we watched a group of a dozen black and white colobus monkeys just at the edge of the forest.  There was a mother with a nearly white baby.  They are born white and the black fur grows in later.
