49 miles in 5 hours ;-). Day started with a puncture - in Taitoko's backyard! A through and through picked up the night before! After of course throwing back some Jägermeister and filling up the hip flask that will surely come in handy we were ready to set off at the early morning hour of 11:20am 😀 However the sludgy Regents Canal and river paths were not a good idea after a day full of rain previously, but we saw sights we wouldn't have on some A road. Beautiful scenery (if you didn't look down at the mud and discount a fall that landed mere inches...okay, a couple of feet from the water), the divine smells emanating from McVities, a graffiti artist hard at work, and a regatta on the Thames. With 2 minor falls - bloody clip ins - 1 little elbow scrape and a sore arse later we arrived at our first destination. Still smiling, still full of adrenaline, now full of G&T and caffeine...Bring it on!!!!!
