The weaving of a "bufonda"

GUATEMALA | Wednesday, 13 May 2009 | Views [490]

One of our class trips was to Trama Textiles. You can find out more at <http://tramatextiles.org/our-story/>

Because I like to knit I decided to try my hand at using a telar de cinturón or belt loom. The simplist project was a scarf or "bufonda" expected to take about 10 hrs. In this video narrated by Theora I am working away on my project. I came to have a great appreciation for the work these women in making fine fabric items that are sold in the Trama store and online.
