Our first sunset over the ocean looking out from our balcony. Magic!!

Time to chill as we've been slowly heading for the beachside hamlet of Huanchaco.

At th bus stop in Chiclayo we've got a bit of time until our bus and we go searching for brekkie. There's a lady selling stuff outside the bus terminal that lloks fun so there's brekkie. We spend 1 sole each (approx 30 cents) and sit down on the curb to consume. We each got something different but they were both basically potato with stuff inside with a side of corn and salad.

It's not long before we realise that the other side is actually ceviche (raw seafood that has been 'cooked' with lime juice. It's what's big around here and we've just had our first seafood sitting on a curb outside a bus stop. It was great and we didn't get ill from it. Guessing our parents would cringe if they were there but gotta love new experiences.

Today we bussed it from Chiclayo to Trujillo, another 3 hour trip and then managed to share a taxi the final 12 kms to Huanchaco.

This place is all we were wanting - our hostel of choice turns out to be directly opposite from the beach. This photo is from our terrace. We also have the usual resident dogs and as something different 2 tortises.

It's Glen's mums birthday and we manage to track down a payphone t the correct time and he really enjoyed wishing her a happy 60th even though in our world it's not until tomorrow.

We're in separete beds tonight as it was all they had on offer - we'll swap once something comes up.

We plan to crash here for a few days to recover from some of the bigger bus trips we've been doing (both physically and moneywise).

This place is oldschool. There's no big shops just tiny corner stores. There are mucho restauants along the ocean all serving ceviche and fantastic fish that you watch the guys bring in on their boats every morning and afternoon.

Lunches are costing us about $1.20 each for 2 courses and a drink - it's brilliant as long as you like seafood. Dinners are mostly mangos and bananas as everything is closed.

Sunsets over the ocean are a new thing for us and are stunning.

We'll spend the next few days here playing cards on the terace drinking beer (longnecks $1) while watching the sunset and the locals goodf around.

 Having a brilliant time.
