Leaving the city of churches today - we're getting use to packing.
Another 5 hour bus ride bu with an up side - we were handed crackers and juice for our journey!! Little things count big so that was nice. Very twisty roads taking us slowy slouth out of the Andes.
Land in Loja super sleepy and forget to check for buses taking us over the border.
Went to our first hotel of choice and walked away - next place was much better and we even got a private bathroom. Yay - it had an electric shower and the water isn't real warm but as long as I get a warm shower once every 4 days I'm bearable to live with.
Head out to the local market to buy dinner (bananas and mangos) and finally spot these cool cloth coffee filters we've been searching for. Decide that we'll pay up to $5US for one and then approuch and find out they're 80 cents. So we now have a proper coffee filter. Yay
Found the local cheesemakers and will return to stock up for our next long bus trip out of the country (we live on cheese sandwiches - but the cheese is more like ricotta here - made the day before - lush!!
