Well we are here. After a rather hungover and for Tara sick 9-hour flight, we arrived at our new `home` for the next two years! Our Romance Apartment is great. Very elegant and will certainly do for the next few weeks. Two bathrooms, one each and our very own little Thai security guard man that smiles lots and jumps to greet us whenever we leave!
So day 1 up early, out and about. The apartment didnt come with any cutlery, pots, crockery or the like. So we headed up to the massive shopping centre near us to buy a few necessary bits. And `Oh my God` I have found my new favourite place! TESCOS - it is exactly like K-Mart but bigger and better and sells everything. We managed to get everything we need and more - I can see I will be spending a lot of time at this place. Not surprisingly there was no problem buying food. Its just like any store in Aus really. Even managed to find Tim Tams and Corn Flakes, no Vegemite to Mikes huge disappointment! We were quite happy with ourselves that we managed to buy two pillows with pillow cases that fit, without reading a single word of English!
Also had a great Thai lunch at some dodgy little soup kitchen in Central Bangkok. $10 - cheap! Saw a lizard crawling on the wall while eating some yummy thai salad.
Off to dinner tonight with a friend Mike has made through another friend. Speaking of which, running a little late, so best be off. I have popped a few photos up for you to check out the apartment. Not sure what we are doing tomorrow, taking things one hour at a time!
