Well I got to Sydney and had the pleasure of staying at a friends flat (they were unfortunately in Perth & New Zealand so I never got to see either of them which was a crying shame) but it meant that I got my own space for 3 nights.
At this point I would have to say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE Sydney. Obviously it was a fleeting opinion as I was only there for 3 days but I just got a great feeling while I was wondering around the city & couldn't help but notice the loveliness of it as far as cities go. Definitely the nicest city that I have visited so far.
I started off doing a hop on hop off around Sydney to view the iconic & magnificent Harbour Bridge & Sydney Opera House, the Rocks area (oldest part of the city) & the beautiful Botanical gardens. In an attempt to get a great picture of the Opera House & Harbour Bridge I took a long walk all the way around the Botanical Gardens to Mrs Macquarie Point to watch 3 different married couples having pictures taken, people playing cricket, lying on benches reading etc etc & the view that I did get was certainly awesome. I just loved the chilled out relaxed feel of the city. It was also a stunning day which of course always helps.
Met up with my friend Lyndsey the following day and headed off to the other major must see which is Bondi Beach although we were so busy chatting that I don't think we saw much along the way - we had not seen each for a couple of years so we were chat chat chatting. Then headed back into the city to find a bus to take us to the SCG (which I might add took us a fair amount of time but definitely all in the fun of it) as I am trying to get to all the test cricket stadiums of the cities that I am going to so I have now been to 3 of the 4 and I am leaving happy SA wishes at all of them in hope that we can beat the Aussies in December although I have only gone into one of the 3 so we shall indeed see.
Headed back into the city again after sprinkling my mootie outside the SCG (ha ha ha) to meet up with Lyndseys cousin for a couple of drinks in Darling Harbour. Got back to the flat after 11pm after a glorious day to ge packed up to head off to Cairns the following day.
