It’s Lasma here, 29 years old, from Latvia. Since childhood I loved to look at postcards dreaming how it would be to see those places with my own eyes. Studying tourism gave me chance to go abroad and I ended up in Ireland. My wanderlust didn't stop there, it grew bigger. I feel this urge to be on the road, to explore, to see new exciting places and to learn about different cultures. It makes me alive. When I got a digital camera, eight years ago, I took deeper interest in photography. To improve my photos, I am learning from books and internet resources. My friends say, I don’t enjoy holidays being behind camera, but I really do, because photography has become my passion too. To immortalize what I see, share it, inspire and get feedback, gives a great satisfaction. I have been working in the grocery store for five years and feel like being stuck and frustrated that I’m not doing what I really like. And the opportunity of photography scholarship came at the right time, the time for change. I would be more than lucky to be taught and assist Jason Edwards and sure there is a lot of room for new knowledge and growth in me. Learning more about my passion would be like dream come true.
