London!

UNITED KINGDOM | Saturday, 20 December 2008 | Views [296]

Seems not a lot has changed in London since I was last here. I've been doing a bit of travelling around the place, checking out some of the places I used to frequent and, except for a few changes, like the odd building being pulled down (or finished being built), everything is pretty much the same. The tube is still as unreliable as ever, the buses as slow as they used to be, the people just as friendly (not!), the only thing maybe (as of this point) is the weather seems to be slightly better - 2 days of sunshine and blue sky out of 4 at this time of year must be a record!!! Oh and, I so appreciate the speedy bank service at home - went in to get a PIN on my cash card, only to be told it will take 4 WORKING DAYS!!! This place is sooo archaic in some ways. :(

Caught up with my mate Clare - was soooo good to chat with her. We chatted for 3 hours without any effort at all - just like old times. :-)

Been grabbing a few coffees at Adele's work - Taylors Barista's (something like that) and that has been real good. And then hanging with Adele after she finishes work in the afternoon. We get home in the dark, despite it only being 4.15! I forgot how early it gets dark over here! However, on the brightside, you don't have to be out late to check out the wonderful street lights and displays that they put on the streets of London.

Looking forward to all we have planned for Adele's 27th Birthday on Sunday - will let you all in on the fun after the fact.
