I thought that once you've booked your flight, although there may be a small change in your times, you'd generally stay with the same company and go through the same route - but apparently not!
On Monday night, my bro took me to the hostel I was to stay at for a few hours before gettting their shuttle at 3am to the airport. I was about to settle for the night and a knock at the door told me that another person on my same flight was going now, because they'd had a phone call saying the flight had been cancelled. So through a couple of phone calls I found that yes my flight had been cancelled (despite me talking with the airline early that morning and them having no problems at that point) and that I could go on the Air NZ flight that left in 2 1/2 hours! So managed to do that, went through LA and arrived in London a whole 20hours earlier than I was meant to! Thankfully, I quickly rang my Mum before I boarded the plane, she was able to get in touch with my sister and so she was there to meet me at Heathrow!!
My back was not the best so was popping panadol, standing, doing my exercises, drinking the alcohol trying to get comfortable to get a few hours sleep. I managed 6 hours between Akld and London! The kiwi crew between Akld and LA were AMAZING! They were so friendly, understanding and even moved me in the last 45 mins so I could be off early at LA in order for me to spend some time lying on the floor to improve my back for the next leg. Not so friendly and understanding were the mainly british crew between LA & London! They were there for a job and thats that!! However, I made it here and am now going ok, still living on paracetamol & codeine and my prescribed drugs. I think it's getting better and know it will be good for Slovenia. :)
