First Impressions

We have been in Lima a couple of days now and have spent the first two nights in The Point Hostel, Barranco. This place has a really good write up in the Lonely Planet and it is ok. But if you're after a bit of comfort and cleanliness, this is probably not the right place. The book is right about the staff though, helpful and friendly. We're going to try staying at the Flying Dog Hostel in Miraflores tonight. It's a similar kind of place but looks warmer and cleaner, we'll see. Lima seems quite nice so far, lots of pretty buildings and nice restaurants. Everyone likes to talk about the weather - DAMP and a bit chilly, an almost constantly-present drizzle too.

"damp", "chilly", "constant drizzle" - are you sure you are not in Timahoe!?
