Admiring the sunrise and view

My 1st time on a plane was 12, took a flying course for a pilot license when I was 19. I only started my solo travels or adventures, as I would prefer to call it in my mid 20s.

The past year, I've worked in Cambodia and I find myself crossing land borders to Thailand, Vietnam and Laos during my free time. To me travelling goes hand in hand with photography and food. Changes are always happening and my love for photography comes from simply capturing that moment that brings me back to that particular place, at that particular moment. Travelling has been a life-changing experience for me. One often thinks that he/she leaves footprints but I believe it’s also the country, its people and culture leaving their impressions in me. With photography, I hope that I will be able to showcase the authenticity and beauty of a country and its people, not just the usual touristy backpacker scene and that it will allow me to tell their story through my experiences and interactions with them. What drives me to take a better shot is my pursuit to capture the essence, mood and raw beauty of a place or its people. Travel is in my blood and if there is one thing I want to do for the rest of my life, it would be to always travel, keep capturing those amazing moments and share those stories and experiences. I hope with this travel scholarship, it will allow me the learning platform to learn more about travel photography, travel writing and the dedication and passion that is needed to kick start a career in this industry.
