My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

If I were any good with words, I would want to be a writer. I love stories, and I spend at least a part of every day reading whatever I can get my hands on. When I was younger, every year I would enter the story telling contest at school. Now at 19, I am studying Communications Design and learning how to use visual images to send a message or tell a story.

I have taken two photography classes so far: one film and one digital, and I fell completely in love with the medium. I don’t leave the house without my camera. I am enamored with the possibilities of creating and showing reality.

To be able to learn from and work so closely with a professional photographer would be a life changing opportunity. There is so much I don’t know, and so much that I want to learn. I am afraid that I cannot express how much this would mean to me. I am passionate about exploration and this scholarship would provide me with the chance to explore photography, new people and places, and a changed future for myself. I would learn to become a better storyteller, and through my photographs, hopefully, I would be able to tell the story of Oman.
