    The beach is, in some ways, the end of the earth. Of course, being on the beach you know, looking at the ocean, that somewhere far away there is the other side of that ocean. But the ocean is so large. Standing in the sand, the horizon is however far away your eyes can manage to see. The beach can make you feel small in a way that only can be mirrored by looking up at the stars on a clear night. Views[206] By shooting at a distance, I endeavored to capture the isolation and sadness that comes from being in a beautiful place, but knowing that you can’t stay and very soon the tide of life will pull you under for another year. Views[156] A moment of happiness and fun becomes bittersweet in the impending end of the summer. It transforms into a memory to hold when the leaves and then the snow begin to fall. Views[176] The body language of the subjects in this photograph screams. The feeling is one of encompassing loneliness because the feelings that the subjects are experiencing are solitary. They aren't interacting with each other, but one can easily make up any number of scenarios that went on between these two, perhaps just 5 minutes before this photograph was taken. Views[154] Rockaway Beach in New York City is iconic. It’s the getaway destination for a city too busy, fast and hardworking. It is far enough away from the hustle and bustle without ever being too far from the action. It is stunningly beautiful but can be dangerous and dirty just as easily. If New York City is everyone’s home, Rockaway is everyone’s beach. These 5 pictures were taken on Labor Day Weekend, the unofficial last days of summer. Views[207]
