By shooting at a distance, I endeavored to capture the isolation and sadness that comes from being in a beautiful place, but knowing that you can’t stay and very soon the tide of life will pull you under for another year.

A moment of happiness and fun becomes bittersweet in the impending end of the summer. It transforms into a memory to hold when the leaves and then the snow begin to fall.

The beach is, in some ways, the end of the earth. Of course, being on the beach you know, looking at the ocean, that somewhere far away there is the other side of that ocean. But the ocean is so large. Standing in the sand, the horizon is however far away your eyes can manage to see. The beach can make you feel small in a way that only can be mirrored by looking up at the stars on a clear night.
