Just finished breakfast and are heading out to Astorga about 15 kms away. Weather is sunny today and about 48F. but will warm up. About 10% complete so far as our trk is concerned. Looking forward to another very pleasant walk to the next hotel.
Arrived Astorga about 2 pm today. The walk turned out to belonger than we thought close to 20 Km's. Weather was outstanding but the route was a little unevn an had some modest grades and small hills. Met a few people along the way , gentleman fro Irland, a couple of university girls fro Tennessee and a couple from near Kitchener in Ontario.. go figure. The hotel we are at is very modern and our room has funky angled walls and great view overlooing a courtyard. Had a bit of a snooze after lunch @ an outdoor patio.. including one of Cindy's favourite dishes .. patatas brava....Dinner is not till around 8 pm here so just kicking back and might go for a swim before we eat. They eat quite late in Spain as we experiencedin an earlier trip a couple of years ago.. but when in Rome...
Tommorrow is another long trek just over 20 kms to Rabanal del Camino...weather again is expected to be good..again another great day...
