I was picked up at 11pm at Lima Airport by Joel, a nice young man I met on www.couchsurfing.com
We caught the bus to his home in Callao, where I stayed the night in his small, tidy room. He slept on a matress on the floor, and gave myself and another young woman from America (Diana), his bed to share.
After waking up, and then coming out of the bathroom to wash my hands, I noticed that there was no roof under where the sink was. When I left the appartment, the whole street looked as though it had been left halfway through the middle of construction.
