The streets and rice fields were flooded. If the flooding ever last longer than one week all the crops would be destroyed. In some parts of the land boats are then the only way to get from one place to another.

These women are living in an old factory. They don’t own their own land and they live in danger of loosing their homes one day if the factory is sold. Here they found a place where they can stay, sleep and cook. Where it is dry during the stormy times.

I walked through the streets a little bit outside of town, then I saw this women washing her clothes. I asked her if I could take a picture, she smiled and continued washing. She had a good house, made of stone but still she seemed to be poor and the floods almost reached her house.
