    There are thousands of small restaurants in the tiny side streets in the capital Phnom Penh. Everywhere people are enjoying a hot soup for breakfast and drinking tea. These men were having an ardent conversation. They saw me taking pictures but they didn’t care. Then they stopped talking and looked into the camera. There was a short break of their conversation, kind of peace between them. by: sicanius Views[391] I walked through the streets a little bit outside of town, then I saw this women washing her clothes. I asked her if I could take a picture, she smiled and continued washing. She had a good house, made of stone but still she seemed to be poor and the floods almost reached her house. by: sicanius Views[201] The streets and rice fields were flooded. If the flooding ever last longer than one week all the crops would be destroyed. In some parts of the land boats are then the only way to get from one place to another. by: sicanius Views[383] These women are living in an old factory. They don’t own their own land and they live in danger of loosing their homes one day if the factory is sold. Here they found a place where they can stay, sleep and cook. Where it is dry during the stormy times. by: sicanius Views[588] These pictures tell about moments I encountered on the streets in and around the two biggest cities of Cambodia. In the often very poor surrounding there is still something beautiful and peaceful in the atmosphere. This pagoda is the most beautiful I have seen in Cambodia so far. I loved the steps and stayed there for one hour and waited for something to happen on those stairs. Then a monk appeared and flung his robe around his shoulders. by: sicanius Views[229]
