My Scholarship entry - JOURNEY TO THE END OF THE EARTH

WELCOME TO THE WHITE CONTINENT -

This is a scene one can gaze upon endlessly with no intention of looking away. 'Pancake' ice are the telltale signs of the oncoming winter as the sea freezes up, and the mounds of ice make everywhere the eye can see picture perfect in this magnificent place. Truly one for the books, Antarctica is out of this world with its pristine environment to the extensive wildlife. Governed by the Antarctic Treaty System established in 1959, Antarctica is out of bounds for any military activity, mining or drilling which truly makes it a sole part of Mother Nature herself.
