Kayaking

THAILAND | Wednesday, 23 March 2011 | Views [336] | Comments [5]

Today was half day of kayaking somewhere around Krabi. I was in a group of 8. Our guide, one woman from England traveling alone, one man from Gibraltar traveling alone, a couple from Sweden, and two girls that were French Canadian. The actual kayaking was about 2 hours and I'm not sure my shoulders have ever had that long of a workout in one sitting. The water was basically still but there were currents that we followed then went against them on the way back. There were several sightings of monkeys and one stop in a cavern to give the tide 5 or 10 more minutes to rise. Today has been more relaxed with less on the go activity. I stay in Krabi (Adam Bungalow) tonight and tomorrow then it is off island hopping. I will spend between 2-4 days on each island. First island is called Koh Lanta, second is Koh Phi Phi (pronounced pee pee), and third is Koh Tao which is supposed to have cheap scuba diving. No activities are booked for the islands so I will play it by ear once I get there. Tomorrow is lazy day in Krabi (i.e. no activities planned).
