There are several ways to see Vienna.
Of course you can walk it till your feet fall off or you can buy a
day ticket for a fiver and take your chances. Like many capitals and
Blakpool there is one of these hop on/off buses here for the real
tourist types. I favour a combination of underground and bike rental.
You get to all the famous sites and
cover some miles too. Vienna is brilliant and perhaps unique in that
you can take the underground to the Prater for instance, throw a
couple of coins in a machine to which a bike is attached and then
it's yours for a couple of hours/the afternoon/a day. The bike, not
the machine. http://www.prater.wien.info/
A day before the final. Can you imagine
how many people were here? There were hundreds of people with signs
trying to buy tickets off scalpers or anyone who had one spare – as
if. Still business seemed booming and I saw one guy running an
auction in the middle of the high street. Price per ticket as I heard
it – 800 Euros and bidding was still going on.
At the Prater there were masses of
people too. In fact the entire city was just packed. Did a bit of
shopping (essentials only and cakes).
Did some reading and went back to
the club early to get some rest. After all – it's a rest day.
