Paracas-Ica-Nasca

Paris and i are headed away for 4 days to 3 different cities in Lima. One of the cities (Paracas) has beaches and national reservations with penguins, lagoons, sea lions, etc... and i'm REALLY excited about going!

Another place in the next city (Ica) has areas of straight up desert where we are going to go sandboarding which is like snowboarding but down mountains of sand :)  That should be very cool!  It's supposed to be a million degrees there though, and i already feel like i'm constantly in a furnance, so it should be...well...HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!  And we are going to take a dune buggy tour through the desert too.  You can check out some images online at:

The last city is called Nasca where there are lines in the sand of all different types of shapes of animals, etc. that have been there forever and no one knows how they got there, or why they don't fade, etc.  There are tales of aliens, etc. so, we are going to go up in a little airplane and be able to look down on all the nasca lines (lineas de nasca) in the desert.

We are using one of the safest bus lines in Peru to get from place to place, it's called Cruz del Sur and it cost us about $50 per person total for 4 different legs of bus rides (Lima to Paracas, Paracas to Ica, Ica to Nasca, and Nasca to Lima again) including food.  Originally we looked for packages (yes, touristy! lol) but we found out is was WAY, WAY, WAY cheaper to go to the office and have someone there book it for us directly.  So, that's what we did :)  Cut out the middle man and save lots of money!

When we get back we'll definitely post some of our own pictures!  Have a good weekend everybody!!!
