Today was our first official day of volunteering at the local library, and like I mentioned before, we just never know what we'll end up doing. Tonight was so cool. I got the opportunity to hang out with a group of adults who are blind, and one of the girls is learning English. So after we practiced some more braille (I'm learning a lot!) I got to read the girl a book in English. But the parts she didn't understand I had to explain in Spanish, but I couldn't use any hand gestures because she is blind... it was AWESOME. It kept me thinking :) I love a good challenge. We are going to meet again a few times a week to practice MORE!
Being open to whatever really has its advantages :) The element of surprise is very rewarding!
