I went for a quick walk for breakfast before a 5 hr trip to Hat Yai. it took us an hour getting thru traffic to pick two other groups of people including a helpful man who guided tours. We left over the bridge instead of on the ferry. We sped uncomfortably fast to a bus rest stop near the border where the driver collected everyone's passports and had them processed prior to the border. It still took an hour waiting in lines to cross out of Malaysia and into Thailand - simple but lengthy. speed demon driver,. After being dropped at our hotel, we had lunch at a street vendor, vvisited the train station, wandered in a long loop and visited three temples. this town is crammed with tour operators and transportation options, massage choices and the usual more stores and malls than people. We wandered about again the late afternoon.
