Today we checked out of Shadow II only to go back there as Shadow I was not as nice and there, they would charge us $2 a day to use the pool at Shadow II, outrageous!!  It was only another $5 a night to stay at the nice place so what with the heat we decided to pay the extra what worked out at such a small amount more to stay with the pool and extra comfort of the nice hotel.  We deserved a treat!  Had a nice Khmer meal.  It was a platter so we got to try lots of dishes.  It was 2006's best restaurant in Siem Reap.  So we had a nice day at nice places.  Wandered around the night market.  The tuk-tuk took us between hotels and even carried my bag up the stairs, thank god as it was four flights!!!

Went to some temples today (8).  They were all a bit different but still same same but different.  That is a saying they use in Vietnam and Cambodia, same same but different.  It is very funny when they use it, to try and tell you something is the same as something else when it clearly isn't!  Saw the temple that was used in the Tomb Raider film.  That one was really cool as it had trees growing through it.  It was really hot walking round the temples and I had a t-shirt on and 3/4 lengths as everything else was in the laundry!  First day in trainers since Dalat.  Needed them as there was a lot of walking and climbing on the temples.  Got bombarded by kids at every temple trying to sell stuff-15 bracelets for $1, fair enough but why would I want 15!  Went in the pool again, nice and refreshing after a day of temple hunting.  Wandered around the supermarket, up and down all the aisles and it turns out that in Cambodia, they sell Viagra off the shelf in the same way as a loaf of bread, weird!!!

Today we went to Angkor Wat and the biggest temple complex, Angkor Thorn.  Angkor Wat was really impressive, can only imagine what it looks like at sunrise.  A rat ran over my foot while we were there, ew!!!!!  Angkor Thorn was cool too.  Lots of small temples dotted around that no-one else was around.  The main one there was big.  For dinner we had snake and crocodile at the Cambodian BBQ.  They were both ok, the croc tasted a bit like beef, wouldn't say no to either of those again.

Went quad biking this morning.  They only had one bike so we had to share.  Thank god as it meant it was $65 halved rather than $50 each!  Went in the pool again so that's everyday since we got here.

So that was the last day in Cambodia.  Really enjoyed our time here.  The nice hotel and refreshing pool helped at the end of course!

You are trying all sorts of food then! Not sure I'd want to try them.
