We are shown by our guide Eric, how they grind cocoa seeds to make chocolate.

On the way to the Bribri community in Talamanca, up the Yorkin river, with Panama on one side and Costa Rica on the other. The two hour journey was upstream, and beautiful!

Once the cocoa seeds are ground, the huskl is then separated from the rest of the seed, by a traditional method of throwing them up in the air, allowing the wind to carry away the lighter husk, so that only the main seed remains.
