    One of the daily rituals of the nuns is getting rid of piles of fallen leaves and twigs inside the premises of the monastery. They get rid of them by burning them. by: rjnd Views[367] As you may have noticed by now, I am easily attracted to beautiful light and have the tendency to play with it to capture emotion. When I saw the nun hanging her prayer robe out to dry, I knew it would be a lovely portrait. by: rjnd Views[586] Dressed in their prayer robes, two Buddhist nuns had a brief conversation before entering a temple inside the monastery. This was the time when I was already starting to establish relationships with the nuns. The nuns already knew of my presence in their community and even with the language barrier they have been nothing but kind and gentle about my presence. I had been striking conversations with them thanks to my tuktuk driver who acted as my translator. When I saw this photo while file organizing, it eventually became my Inside the monastery is one of the most beautiful graveyards I have seen. I was immediately drawn to the little creature and the dramatic light. The cat, who felt my presence, turned its head to look at me, as if asking me to retreat from disturbing its peace. by: rjnd Views[450] Living a simple life is the monastic way of life. I am nowhere as knowledgeable as perhaps most of the general public of what Buddhism and the practice of Dharma are, but what I witnessed when I visited this monastery at the heart of Siem Reap, Cambodia is the simplicity and the gentle nature of the Buddhist nuns.
