My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

As you may have noticed by now, I am easily attracted to beautiful light and have the tendency to play with it to capture emotion. When I saw the nun hanging her prayer robe out to dry, I knew it would be a lovely portrait.

Dressed in their prayer robes, two Buddhist nuns had a brief conversation before entering a temple inside the monastery.

This was the time when I was already starting to establish relationships with the nuns. The nuns already knew of my presence in their community and even with the language barrier they have been nothing but kind and gentle about my presence. I had been striking conversations with them thanks to my tuktuk driver who acted as my translator.

One of the daily rituals of the nuns is getting rid of piles of fallen leaves and twigs inside the premises of the monastery. They get rid of them by burning them.
