    A new mosque is under construction in Hadash at the site of the old single room stone mosque that has been removed to accommodate the much larger building. This stone from the original building bares the inscription of the original builder. It is said to date back 480 years or more. by: read Views[152] Two generations – one born well before the oil wealth transformed the country and one born into it – reverently hold an inscribed stone from the old mosque while telling the story of a famous Imam who prayed in the original mosque over 450 years ago while en route to recruit fighters against Portuguese rule over coastal Oman. by: read Views[134] Hadash village. Accessed only by a steep narrow track requiring a capable 4x4 vehicle. Hadash is a snapshot of life as it once was in Oman. Existence of the village remains largely due to the spring water channelled from the mountainside by intricate falaj irrigation systems much as it was centuries past. by: read Views[441] A bulldozer, watched by an expatriate labourer, moves a car-sized boulder at the entrance to Wadi Mistal during construction of a modern highway where Hadash is situated.
