On the same day but a few miles away from the desert scene and lone bird, I came to this place in Riyadh. What a stark contrast! Looks like worlds away!

A few minutes’ drive from the desert jaunt scene, I saw this lone bird perched on this lone tree. It was winter, and the trees, very few and far between, were all denuded of their leaves. What a precarious life the bird must be living!

Same place in Riyadh. With all the lush greenery around, this bird must be living in the lap of luxury, a far cry from the lone bird on the lone tree.
