A Balinesian man carves wooden sculptures for tourists to buy. Tour leaders take groups to many destinations like this to watch the workers create wood carvings, jewelry or batik fabrics and make purchases. Incentives are given to the guides if tourist buy items.

Temples are tourist attractions in themselves in Bali. Many tourists come to the famous Tanah Lot to see the temple on an island in the sea. The Balinese use the temples for worship, but they have become a tourist attraction, and therefore a way to make money.

Motorbikes line the street outside of the markets in Ubud. The market place is set up to sell tourists souvenirs. This provides jobs, and monetary gain for the local people in Ubud.
