My Scholarship entry - Shahpur: Illiteracy, Unemployment and Poverty

India | Monday, November 24, 2014 | 5 photos

Coming from a creatively oriented family, it was but natural to move to some form of Art and Creations; and I chose photography. I held the first camera (Kodak point and shoot), at the age of 10. Today I use a DSLR; I really used this camera to its full potential, using all its settings. It got my creative juices flowing and I started experimenting. I browsed the internet, read extensively about photography on all the subjects’ right from techniques, setting to compositions.
Love and passion for photography has helped me to express my emotions and feelings. Bringing stories alive is quite thrilling and being able to tell a story through the photos is definitely a complete package, a skill which I would like to learn and practice. I belong to one of the ethnic tribes of India – “Munda”. This community is still backward, under poverty and not known to many people. I believe my photography would help bring forward real life pictures of Munda and many other Tribes of India. I would like to take my passion and skill several notches higher, by challenging myself, in bringing forward some amazing pictures, depicting true stories to the world and help me make a difference to someone.
