Landed in Dubai and had a few hours to kill before connecting flight to Delhi so hooked up with Rams and Nazia (ex-colleagues from PwC projects c1998). Rams kindly took me on a guided tour of Dubai and a skyline in which I only recognised 4 buildings from when I was last there in 1998 (Dubai Creek Golf Course, Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Burj Al Arab Hotel and Jumeirah mosque).
Rams lives on the Palm and he took me on a guided tour of the Palm which included Atlantis Hotel, the trunk and outer fringes. We were watching the sat nav as we did this and I have to say it was quite a surreal experience.
Apparantly they have whale sharks at the Aquaventure park at Atlantis so I really could have cut my 'round the world' diving trip short and done all my diving there!!!!!!
As it was Diwali, Rams and his wife hosted breakfast which was lovely. We then met up with Naz for lunch.
