Grandfather, as he is known, takes a moment after a long hard day. A rare picture of hime without a smile. He is almost always ready with a joke or a laugh. Curious as a cat, he wanted to know why two women were traveling alone and if I was married. I managed to convey to him that I wasn't. With a twinkle in his eyes and mischief in his smile, he asked back, "Azaad?" A word that strangely enough means 'Free' in India as well as in Iran.
