Next stop on the tour is the Cinque Terra. we jumped on a train in the morning, luckly it was raining that day, so were glad to catch up on some sleep on the train ride. We checked into our hostel, another 12 bed dorm.....was VERY cramped in! beds in the Kitchen.... luckly there was only 3 of us that night!
We played cards with our new romie Ryan, who taught us a great new card game! He had this deck of cards that he got off ebay, they were plastic.. so water proof.... in other words... Nikky Proof!! the best cards we had ever seen! no amount o wine spillage in the world oul ruin these cards, and we all know that Nik usually only manages to get about 1/2 of the wine in the glass and the rest on the table. Nik raved on about them all night... 'these cards are sooo awesome' 'where did you get them from'... 'Hol i love these cards' ' i want a set'. honestly... did not shut up about the cards all night. ...Ryan commenterd, 'if i knew you girls were going to be so much fun i would of bought more drinks'......Never underestimate porks and bucks to show you a good night, even if we are in a quiet, peaceful place!
After 2 and 1/2 hours of playing cards, Nik still had not won a game... (and we all know how competative she is!!), defeated we called it a night.... when we woke up in the morning, the guy had checked out and the Cards were laying on the bed! Nik was SOO stoked! hope we didnt scare him!
First day in Cinque Terra we hiked the 5 villages along the coast. It was a beautiful day and the scenary was absolutlly surreal! some of the climbs were challenging, but so worth it, as the views were spectacular! one of the most beautiful places we have seen so far, and the villages were so cute.
In the night back at the hostel we were relaxing with a well earned Beer after hiking about 7 hours that day......when we heard someone calling holly's name through the door.... we opened it to find that 2 of our canadian friends that we had met in our hostel in Nice, Ali and Amanda. They were staying at the hostel above us! they said they could hear our Aussie accents, and knew it was us! So straight away we were into the Vino and cards again!
The next day, we headed to the beach to have bit of a chillax! layed in the sun until the rocks that were poking into our arses were hurting too much, and we thought time to do another Hike. We hiked along the cliff from the last village Monteroso, this was an even tougher climb..... but we made it! and at the top an absolutly beautiful panoramic view back of the whole of the Cinque Terra! we made our way back down where we enjoyed our first Gelato... YUMMY!
That night, we got back to the hostel and about another 7 people had checked in! VERY cramped in, but it was worth it, as we ended up having a CRAZY night!
Started out playing drinking games and listening to music around the table..... LOTS of cheap wine. we had bought the jumpo sized 1 and 1/2 litres for 3 euros....bargain! lets just say there was not much of that left by the end of the night! Next minute we know, we are dancing on the chairs and tables in the hostel... Nik thought it might be a fun idea for everyone to wear our bars on the outside of our shirts! and hair in a high pony tail singing to all the oldies and doing the swiming monkey! of course we couldnt leave out the boys, so Nik kindly offered to lend out 3 of her bras to the boys! who seemed to enjoy wearing them a little bit too much! Beleive it or not, we actually met someone more clumpsy than Nik. Marissa, one of the girls was a tad drunk, and went to lean on the cupboard. Next minute she had pulled the whole cupboard off the wall smashing plates, glasses, salt.... all over the floor!
After several hours of being crazy, laughing, singing and drinking and of course a couple of table top russian dance moves! we were up on the top bunks running from one bed to the other running an absolutle muck!
We thought the only logical and sensible thing to do next would be to go for a swim in the ocean! so off we go, with our swimmers on down to the rocks, and in we go! the water was absolutly bloody FREEZING! it was breathtakingly freezing! we could not get out quick enough.
Next morning Porky woke up with a few little cuts on her feet and a bit of a sore head.... Little miss 'i dont get a hangovers' was fine!
Was a slow start to the morning, but this place was so worth getting up for!
Cinque Terra was honestly one of the cutest places we have ever seen! the Hikes are amazing! and well worth the effort, as the views were absolutly breathtaking!
We decided to make some plans about where we were off to next. The canadian girls are heading to venice then to Croatia for Amanda's birthday.... so we thought... what the hell...whats a party without porks and Buckwheat... lets go to Croatia too!! why not! so next stop Venice! then Croatia!
