Because of the war the average age of the population these days is very young. Being supported by European Union one part of the youth becomes active in politics and culture, another part is more concentrated on partying hard. The night life in Prishina often reminds of Berlin. The day-life and its working-class spirit of the adults still reminds of Eastern Europe.

And if you look down – you find yourself in the middle of a compressed city full of construction sites standing next to new and shiny buildings lost in myriads of cars parked on top of each other. This city leaves a feeling of a place in the middle of its growth, yet far from blooming.

One of the “sights” of the city is a nearby nuclear power station. “When the wind blows in our direction we get high without drugs”, - jokes a young Albanian guy. This is an anti-nuclear exhibition in the National Theater of Prishtina.
