Wonderings of a Wanderer eandering through foreign lands, whose people speak in tongues unknown... I seek to learn and understand cultures, customs not my own… I yearn to learn, to see, expand, my knowledge as I wander, roam… To visit places, see first-hand the lands tha

Low profile in Lima

Big cities are not my favourite... especially one with so many millions....!  First thing I did in Lima off the night bus was go to the Australian Consulate... in one day they had my new emergency passport ready... but I had to pay for having the otherone lost.  Then to the Brazillian Embassy a few times to get my visa again for Brazil... that was fun.  Then I visited a chiropractor - an interesting experience.  He used a strange table with sections that folded up underneath you and then collapsed down... not very effective in my opinion and not so good for my migraine... which the next day had me throwing up each time I stood up!  But I did manage to meet with my stepmum´s sister and brother which was great.

In Lima, 3 more joined our crew... a young Aussie couple from Tassie bringing the total of Aussies up to 5 and an older male from the UK who has seen the movie What the Bleep do we Know and with whom I´m sure I can have some interesting conversations.

We went to Pisco... most of the group went sandboarding and dune buggy riding but I opted out... too recently sick.  But I did have an interesting conversation (very limited Spanish) with some cleaners at a hotel.  They work 8 hours a day for 15 soles...  that´s sobering.

Last night we arrived at Nasca... and today I checked out the Nasca lines from a small plane... Unfortunately I was mostly focused on not revisiting breakfast, though I somehow managed a few photos.  Again... soon I will try to get these up!

Tonight, another night bus, to Arequipa.  A 9 hour journey... then the Inca trail....  Ciao!

Hola Mezzo...Hope you get to shake that migraine - a good neck stretch and some happy co-traveller to work on those muscle spasm. Wish I was a little tarantula on your shoulder for the Inca trail. Don't forget those coca leaves...they're great for altitude wobblies. Heaps of hugs from Mumz, David and Chani would needle you with her claws and head-butt you if she only could! :)

Hi there. Not a great chiro experience! If it makes you feel better I use those pieces as well but only for old people or small kids. On second thought don't know if that will make you feel better. Nice to see you are having a great trip. Enjoy
