Desert Life, Hard Life

My Scholarship entry - The Gobi Desert, Best Served Cold

The Mongolian Yak is perfectly designed to survive the severe conditions that the Gobi can produce. It's thick coat offers almost floor length protection and it's large hooves are ideal for scraping away snow. It survives on a diet of only short grasses, and is best suited to altitudes of 2000m and above.
