My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Cambodia | Sunday, January 13, 2013 | 5 photos

It takes more than an expensive camera to take a great shot; it takes a keen eye, passion, drive, patience, persistence and know-how to get that amazing shot.
As a child my interest in photography started as an ember which then became a guiding torch towards my dream job. After completing my Photo Imaging Diploma I volunteered as a freelance photographer. Being shy and not confident I had difficulty marketing myself and so didn’t get paying work. My flame for photography still grew but not my confidents.
After graduating, I travelled to the Canadian Rockies with the idea of working in a photographic store. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get such a job so I worked in retail and spent my days off developing my skills photographing wildlife and the environment.
While in Canada I travelled to the Emirates, Cambodia and America creating wonderful images for friends and family to admire. My flame for photography told me to focus on becoming a travel photographer.
I believe that with guidance and mentoring from a world renowned travel photographer I will learn the fundamentals that I’ve needed to develop to be great travel photographer and inspire dreamers that dreams do come true.
