The contrast between buildings in the big city and the houses beside the train tracks that this child calls home couldn’t be greater. Even so this is home sweet home where the family ekes out an existence.

Phom Penh, Cambodia: Small children trudge their way into the city where they see how rich people live and to beg for money or sell goods so they can help contribute to their struggling families. After a long day this child wearily makes his way home with his days earning of 2 bags of nuts.

Being poor means that children make the most of what is available around them. Tired and hungry after a long day it’s time for a quick rest for this little boy before continuing the journey home to his family and dinner.
